Spoke to customer support today. They said that I need a tech out to service this 18-month old machine that is still on its original ink cartridges. So that's a minimum of $300, all because of a crappy firmware installation process. Super disappointing.
Today I printed a few documents and when retrieving them noticed that there was a firmware update for the C500. I logged into the admin console and initiated the update. Fifteen minutes later, the printer no longer works. I am greeted with en error code 117-357. The only help I see on this code is to turn off the printer and wait 30 seconds. I've done that about a dozen times now. Each time, it reboots to a screen that reads "unknown unknown" and then to the error screen. I am unable to access any menus on the device and it does not show up on my network--the only option I have is to turn it off. This is clearly an issue with the update. Is there any way to resurrect this thing or do I now have a paper weight?
