Update
I was still having issue. This has been going on since day 1 for both ex 100 srevers.
I got lucky with a tech from Xerox online and he solved the issue.
efifiery serices are set to manul for starup which is normal, however, we are running windows 8 that came with the servers. Way to expensive to upgrade to 10 through xerox, $2500 per machine.
We changed the service to auto startup and it works perfect now.
Aperently windows 8 has a pc health service that should run and let the manual services know that they can start, but if is windows 8, so no surprise it doesnt work. lol
The tech was great and solved the issue. Finally.... I have spent countless hours rebooting trying to get the fiery to connect over the years. Hopfully that is over now.
Thank you
I was actuallyy not able to connect for a couple of days and just didnt have the time to trouble shoot it.
I used your solution and I was able to connect.
Thank you
Hello James,
You may have already tried this, but if not it could be worth a shot. Otherwise, I would recommend calling Support and asking to speak with a 2nd Level Network Specialist: 1-800-821-2797.
I have 2 V180 Press with EX180 servers. Both have the same issue to varying degrees.
Any time either server is shut down or resatrted I have a very hard time getting command work station to reconnect to the press. I have had entire days where I have had to restart the server(s) several times in an attempt to get them to reconnect. Sometimes I just give up and use 1 press.
I keep up on all the fiery provided updates and the PC's are set for autoupdate. Windows just updated yesterday, March 7th. I cant get either server to connect to the press. This has been going on for over a year. When I have placed a service call in the past after a day of frustration they will come and eother get lucky or they will give up and reload the software. But this hasnt solved the issue. I should be able to do a full shutdown and when I restart it shouldnt take more then 30 minutes to be up and running, and thats being generous. Its getting out of hand at this point.
Any suggestions or help is greatly apreciated.
Things I have triedto no avail.
-rebooting server and press in different sequences.
-unplugging the rj45(crossover cable) between server and press, techs have replaced them in the pass
-waiting for hours to just let the server work it out.
-Multiple restarts of server and press, sometimes 5 or 6 times.
-All updates are installed.
