GBC AdvancedPunch mispunch due to black bars on sheet

Product Name: Xerox Iridesse Production Press

I'm trying to double punch a 2-up book on 11x17 20# bond. For most of the book, everything is fine, but one section has large black bars running parallel to the punch. In this section, the punch intermittently drops too soon on the second punch at the tail edge of the sheet. I have no issues on text only books nor on any section of this book that doesn't have the black bars.

Thoughts?
