I have a Xerox Phaser 6510 that makes a terrible grinding noise from rear of printer. I believe the fuser is causing this issue. It just passed the warranty period so I need to fix myself. Is there any literature on how to replace this part? Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Fuser on 6510 is engineer replaceable unit, but I will try to help you.
Open the rear cover
Remove the right little fuser cover, it have a screw
Remove the cover, it have alittle tab
Uncrew the 2 screws and disconnect the 2 connectors
Remove the fuser
Good luck!
Gabi
I ordered a new fuser, installed it, and still making that awful grinding noise. What else would be the cause of this? Thanks
It could be from Waste toner container, from the Transfer Belt Cleaner or from one of the drum cartridges.
Hi, I have this same issue. You mentioned waste toner container, transfer belt cleaner, or drum cartridges. How do we troubleshoot each of these parts? Thank you.
Hi,
I've got the same problem that the rear printer is making horrible noise when printing starts and last for the whole process of printing.
I just took out the fuser as you demonstrated, made sure the roll is clean and smooth, put it back, but then the noise is still there.
Is there any other way to solve this?
