Hang-up requires power cycle

Product Name: WorkCentre 3225
Operating System: Not Applicable

My printer initially worked perfectly but lately it hangs up, unresponsive to any control panel buttons and can only be reset by cycling the power. I have tried with it connected by both cable and wireless. It seems to happen every 2-3 days. Would a power filter possibly help? It has the latest firmware installed. Thanks,
