I want to install the ICC Profiles on/for my Versalink C400 printer. The file is located on the Xerox.com site, on the "VersaLink C400 Color Printer Support & Drivers" page. It's at the very bottom under the header "Color Profiles" labeled as "Xerox VersaLink C400/C405 ICC Profiles" (Color Profiles Date: Apr 10, 2019 Size: 5.1 MB Format: ZIP).
I read the User Guide and the posted up Documentation Support links, but I haven't found any information on how to install it or what the ICC Profiles even do. (I was told it would help fix one of my printer issues with color, so I want to try it, as I work with lots of color.) Can someone inform me please? :)
Also, I did read up on the second link located under that one, titled: "Xerox VersaLink C400/C405 Pantone Color Table " (Size: 12.7 MB Format: ZIP) and I did read the documentation, but honestly, it all went over my head. Can someone tell me exactly what this is for?
1. These are installed on your computer, you use them in application like Indesign to make sure your output intent is designed for the printer itself, otherwise it will be generic, and most likely RGB instead of CMYK, because the output intent of everything now is pretty much an iPhone/iPad etc.
Here is a pretty straight forward example of how to do so
2. Pantones are just official color recipes. The guide is the ones tested to work (Are possible to achieve)
So say you install the .aco file in that download for Photoshop in Photoshop, it will allow Photoshop to only use what colors the printer can do.
hm, that kind of helped a little, but not really :/
pretty much, I just need my printer colors to match my monitor colors!
