Well, I've been traveling and finally had a chance to call Support. Windell was very helpful and after testing it himself said the hardware is the problem. And, it is within the 3 year warranty so they are shipping me out a new one. I'm a happy camper!
Thanks! I'll check it out.
Gary
I know nothing about your product, but...
Based on your description, I'm wondering if the scanner carriage is stalling during the scan?
I assume that the scan direction is from left to right in the picture that you posted. If it is from top to bottom in the pic, then this info will not be valid.
Watch the moving scan carriage as it scans the document, does it continue to move all the way across the document? Or does it slow and stop prematurely?
If it is slowing or stopping, then the rails that the carriage rides on may need cleaned and lubricated.
Normally, if this were the case, there would be other indications that could be seen on the scanned image output, noise from the scanner, or fault codes. But I thought I would mention it anyway.
Another possibility could be a damaged ribbon cable that may be attached to the carriage.
Let us know what you find out.
Andy

I haven't used my Xerox Duplex Combo Scanner in a while but have tried to use it today and I'm not getting the whole of the flatbed scanned. As shown below, it scans the left side of a document fine, but at 5 1/2 inches a lighter band starts, and at ~6 1/4" it cuts off completely.
I've driven the scanner with both the included Visioneer software as well as Photoshop Elements and get exactly the same results, so it isn't the software.
Has the scanner died? There are no error messages and the scanner seems to think all is well.
Help, please!
