J75 Auto Air Assist Values - WHAT DO THEY MEAN?

I'm trying to adjust the Auto Air Assist Values on my J75 to accomodate a multiple-feed issue in the High Cap Feeder Trays. I've found where to do it, but I would like to know what the particular values do. they are: Auto, Standard Table, Multi-Feed Handling Table, Misfeed Handling Table, Custom Table 1, Custom Table 2, Custom Table 3, Custom Table 4, and Force OFF.

For a bit of background, I'm running 11-sheet books. Due to design engineer error, the J75 cannot handle 11 sheet books as coated stock (GSM 120). So, I have to run these books as Uncoated 90GSM (max 20 sheets).

I've called Technical Support about this issue. They've said the air assist fans in the HCFTs are turned off for uncoated stock. However, I can set the Auto Air Assist Value as a custom paper setting for the tray. When asked about the specifics of the different settings, they had no documentation that they could find anywhere on what the different values did. They could only recommend that I run the books as Coated 120GSM. When I mentioned the limitation of 10 pages, they were stumped and had no answer.

In my trial-and-error, I've tried Auto, Misfeed Handling Table, and Multi-Feed Handling Table (the logical choices) and saw no difference in paper jams due to multiple sheets (and, by multiples, I'm talking anywhere from 2-6 sheets fed at the same time).

No resolution yet, nor does the knowledge base cover the air assist values. In effect, the only ones who know anything about them are the engineers.

So, I ask again, what do those values mean?

Re: J75 Auto Air Assist Values - WHAT DO THEY MEAN?

Software determines the air values automatically when the paper type is selected. If you want to run the machine out of spec the only possible option would be to adjust the retard pressure on the ohcf to the highest setting.

Re: J75 Auto Air Assist Values - WHAT DO THEY MEAN?

I've found no adjustments for the retard pressure on the OHCF. I have found that the website how to on here is out of date with respect to the OHCF of the J75 in that it has no weight adjustment sliders and that the software of the IOT maintains that the air assist is off for all gsms of uncoated stock. No documentation on what the air assist values are, much less how they work.
