Did you ever find a solution to this problem? Sort of experiencing the same issue.
OK, so nothing I can 'hands on check' then if it's a board issue. I pulled all the trays, nothing looks wrong in there, just thinks all are open. Thanks!
Each paper tray have a PWB with switches for sensing paper format. Check to see if there are not pieces of paper behind the paper trays. Other wise maybe as I said, it can be a communication problem between PWBs.
No code, just this
The paper light is lit,
if you go to tray menu it shows
Tray 1 open .... fill 0%
Tray 2 open .... fill 0%
Tray 3 open .... fill 0%
Tray 4 open .... fill 0%
Doesn't even acknowledge paper in the flip out manual tray.
I was curious, just by chance, if it was like some printers I've seen. there is an HP printer where if the door is open, it will say paper out, they have the rear door sensor wired in line with the paper out sensor, so either shows the same error. it's just odd that all 4 drawers say open no paper, and even the manual flip out tray on the left won't acknowledge if it has paper.
No jams though, it won't even print as it thinks all trays are open or empty when they are closed and have paper?
Is there a fault code?
Hi,
The little piece of plastic could be from exit sensor, located on the left side cover under the inverter assy, but if this is broken the machine will jam every time.
Thanks for the answer!
Is there something specific I can check, I work on similar machines but this model is new to me. Sometimes, when you first turn it on, it will work for a few pages, so it kinda seems like when something warms up, it fails. Lately it's been not even doing that though. The only other thing I found, was in the access door where you can access the fuser and such, there was a small black piece of plastic, but I cannot see where it came from. Is there any switch or anything that might be broke that would be in line with these sensors and make it seem like all were in that state?
Hi,
It looks like be a communication problem between paper trays sensing PWBs and the MCU PWB
Hi, got a Xerox M24. The paper light is lit, if you go to tray menu it shows
Tray 1 open .... fill 0%
Tray 2 open .... fill 0%
Tray 3 open .... fill 0%
Tray 4 open .... fill 0%
Doesn't even acknowledge paper in the flip out manual tray. All trays are full. Tried open, close..
copy function is disabled, only scanning is available.
I checked every connector I could find, reseated them, inspected everything visually. customer said 'once in a while' when they turn it on in the morning, it will work for a few pages, then go to this again. I'm 'guessing' maybe a thermal electronic failure? Any thoughts?
