I replaced the black toner cartridge, but it's not being recognised as I'm still getting the message to replace the cartridge.
There are several postings about the same problem, and one answer given was -
"Did you remember to shake the cartridge and also turn it after insertion"?
I've shaken the cartridge many times, but how can I turn it after insertion?
Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?
Thanks

Hi benz,
Thank you for using the Xerox forum.
After reviewing the following solutions, you are correct that these do not turn and lock and I'm sure someone was confused that this was another model.
How To Replace the Toner (Dry Ink) Cartridges
I'd like to ask a few questions in order to understand the next steps
Thank you for the reply.
I have solved the problem - I hadn't quite latched the cartridge all the way in.
Cheers
I replaced the black cartridge but the message "Insert black cartridge" never goes away. I've made sure it is securely locked into place. No matter what I do, it will not accept the cartridge.
I have the same problem, but I have definitely latched the cartridges in place.
Our Magenta is showing "low", so I grabbed the branded genuine Xerox toner cartridge from the shelf and replaced it. The display indicates I need to insert the magenta toner. I checked and re-checked everything, and it still doesn't recognize the new cartridge. Ironically, the one I pulled out, and is still working fine, is an aftermarket unit. I ordered yet another, and it also fails to be recognized.
I have cycled the power on this printer, to no effect.
I'm about to figure out a way to open up and pour the contents of the new cartridge into the one that works fine.
Please advise. This is not on a service contract, and is otherwise working great.
