Re: Mob Unit Workcentre 7556

Cheryl,

Thank you for your submission.  I did find that piece improbable for me to install and did have a Xerox technician install.  Among other things.

They have currently put my machine in the "Do not repair" list because of the issues and the age.

Would love to use as a black and white machine, but, now it is jamming each time going into the developer unit.  Cannot seem to figure how to remedy this situation.

When turning on machine, it prints a test page two sided just fine.  But after that, jams.

Please advise.

Thank you so much for you knowledge!

Update.

Technician went through this machine methodically and found issues with the blue and the yellow.  Went so far to even start putting in boards to and reloading software.

Machine has been downgraded to the "Do not repair" list with Xerox due to the age and the issues.  They wrote off any charges to move on.  I accepted and dodged a bullet due to the rising cost of repairing this old machine.

Wanted to use as a black and white machine, but now is jamming on paper input.  It will not enter the developer unit and gets jammed up.  Have to pull open side cover and remove each time.

It does print a start up sheet two sided just fine when turning on, but that is all I can currently get from machine.

Please advise.

Thank you for your time.

Yes, you are correct.  And that is what he did.  Found major problems in the blue.  Then found the yellow to be subject to issues.  After all was done and said, Xerox passed on repairing after making numerous trips and calling experts for direction.  This machine is now on the do not repair list because of the issues and the age.

It was supposed to work as just a black and white copier, and did so for about a minute.  Now I cannot even do that.

Paper is jamming on entry into the developing unit and will go no further.  It runs a warm up sheet, two sided, but that is as far as I can go.

Would love to utilize what is left in the black and white world on this machine.

Please advise.

It would help if you knew which color was out of reg then you can focus on it. The tech can run internal test patterns to see. Replace the ibt assembly  or swap drums around to see if the misregistered color changes.

Thank you for your input.  I had technician install MOB unit.  He made some adjustments and asked me if it looked okay.  But, in fact, nothing has changed once I started production.

I remembered your input and now am reviewing.  I think all four of my drums are relatively new, not sure how to check to see if one is bad.

The transfer belt is on its last bit of life and also the second bias transfer roller.

Please advise.

Thank you

I had Xerox technician trained by Xerox company service the machine and the MOB unit needed replaced.

This is where I got my information.

How would I clean the MOB sensor?  I am thinking the Xerox tech. already addressed that and summated the diagnosis.

Thank you for your time and knowledge.

The MOB sensor does not usually go bad. Color misregistration can be caused by a bad drum, developer housing, transfer belt or the MOB sensor which reads the patches on the transfer belt. I would try cleaning the MOB sensor first.

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Looking to update the MOB unit.  Sample prints show colors do not line up properly.

Is this something I can get and install myself?

Need part number if yes.

Thank you
