Hi,

You need 2,5 SATA HDD, minimum 80GB, no matter brand, 5400 or even 7200RPM, but you need to reinstall the software by AltBoot-ing to have functionaly machines.

Dear Sirs, 

 

I am a Xerox Service Tech tasked with preparing some machines for lease return. I want to exchange Hard drives, but cannot find a source that I need for exact HD. I am needing some very specific details in regards to the way machines access HD and validate them. I want to replace with similar Hitachi HD's that are exact specs, but potentially different firmware. My question is, are Xerox machines so propriatary that they must have the "exact" HD specified? Or, does just the general specs have to be met? ie, Size, Brand, Port type, RPM speed, Cache type, etc....
