I had to turn the firewall off in the computer for the original software to find the printer when it was installing.
Very strange is was everyone has been saying. Firewall issue with our network? I wouldn't think so, especially since it is limited to the machines with windows XP and it did work on one of them before I reformatted it.
verry stange, maybe a firewall issue on your network/pc ?
It doesn't find the printer on the network, even if I manually type in the ip address.
I used the cd that came with the printer. I tried several times on each machine. Is there something specific I need to do other than let the installation program run?
what are the steps you did while installing the driver?
We have a Phaser 3600 set up as a network printer in our store. We have 9 computers on our network, 7 of them are running Windows 7 and 2 are running XP Pro. We set the printer up and it has been working fine with the Windows 7 machines but we can't get it to work with the 2 that are running XP. Both XP machines are connect correctly to our network and communicate with all other devices, such as our DVR system. The software that came with the printer has been installed on the 2 XP machines but neiher of them can see the printer on the network. Initially it did work correctly with one of the XP machines but has not since we re-formatted the hard drive.
Does anyone have any ideas?
