I don't know what is wrong then, and there is no way to find out.
That blinking light should be like morse code.
2 flashes, a pause, 2 flashes, a pause, 4 flashes, a pause, then back to the beginning would be a code of 226 for example (Blown fuse)
But if there is no fault and the light just blinks at a constant there is literally no avenue of diagnosis.
yes..if you mean the little sd like card near where the power cord plugs in. nothing else is displayed and the red lights are rapid.
Is the configuration card in it?
If yes, to the above, does the light blink in an apparent sequence?
Is there anything else displayed if you hit the help button?
there is ink.
no it does turn on.....as soon as it does red blinking light with website address thats it.
So it never turned on once? So there is not even any solid ink in the device?
no fault code. I turn it on. The red light starts blinking and just gives the website.
Is there not a fault code displayed?
Even if it got plugged in and was tipped on its side and lat the melted solid ink run rampant through the device it should at the very least give a status code on screen.
I have a new in box 8870. It is a few years old but was in storage as a backup. I went to install it today and it all that happens is that the light blinks red and it gives the xerox website. Is there a way to fix this or is it toast?
