Re: New setup, roller covered in magenta

Hi,

I saw one machine today and it looks like yours and I remember also few machine with the same look. It seems to be normal, because that roller is in contact with the transfer belt. So don't worry!

Re: New setup, roller covered in magenta

Thanks for the reply.  I wiped it with a nice dry, lint-free cloth... and nothing happened.  None of it came off.  I rotated the roller and saw that there was an even application of yellow and cyan on it also. I set it up and it printed properly, no visible streaking or unintended marking.

Thanks for the reply!

Re: New setup, roller covered in magenta

Hi,

That one is the 2nd Bias Transfer Roller. Normally it shouldn't look like that, but you can try to clean it with a dry cloth.

New setup, roller covered in magenta

Product Name: WorkCentre 6515
Operating System: Linux

I started to set up a new WorkCentre 6515.  As I removed the tape from the rear, I saw that a roller was covered in magenta toner.  There were some other splats here and there, but my questions are:

Is this common?
How did it get there? and,
What is the cleaning process if any is needed?

TIA
