Phaser 5550DN --NIC not working

We just purchased this new printer for about two weeks and the NIC card kept dying. After the printer has been slept or off for a couple hours to 24 hours the NIC would not work again. There would be new light blinking from the NIC card. Any suggestion on what's going on. Do I really have a bad NIC? We always use HP printer. This is the first Xerox printer we have and I do not want it to go wrong. This issue reinforces the idea that HP is better than Xerox and any other laser printer out there. I have called Xerox tech support but they did not help me out yet. Instead, I gave them a phone number to call me back, and they gave me a ticket number. It seems the customer support are not as good as HP either. I'm quite disapointed that I've made the decision to buy a Xerox if we couldn't get this printer to work in a couple of days.
