Re: Phaser 6250 replaced imaging drum but now printer keeps wanting me to reseat the unit or install

I tried this solution but it didn't work. I have enjoyed this machine for many years and would like to keep using it. I am hoping to find a solution so I can keep using it. So far I have not luck in finding this solution. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Phaser 6250 replaced imaging drum but now printer keeps wanting me to reseat the unit or install

Hi Domingo,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take out the imaging unit. Power off and then unplug the machine, wait for about a minute.  Plug the machine back in and turn it back on with out the imaging unit in the machine.  Once it has powered on without the imaging unit in the machine you should get an error.  Install the imaging unit.  There are no rest buttons or anything like that in the machine,  If it still does not recognize the unit please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Thanks,

Phaser 6250 replaced imaging drum but now printer keeps wanting me to reseat the unit or install one

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I just replaced the drum imaging unit in my old 6250 Phaser color printer. However it does not recognise the unit as being installed. It keeps indicating that I need to install the unit or reseat it. Is there a switch or something that needs to be looked at? I do see two plunger style posts on the bottom of the area where the unit sits and it appears there are switches on door number two that would indicate the door is locked, but they appear to be fuctioning.
