Re: Phaser 6280 Is there a Non-Genuine Toner mode?

Thanks Gabi, I have been assured by the supplier that these are 'Sold' not 'Metered' carts and the region is correct too.

I really want to know about the "Non-Genuine Mode" for toners that the Xerox service manual refers to.

Has anyone used it? Or have it as an option through the control panel or IS Centerware?

Re: Phaser 6280 Is there a Non-Genuine Toner mode?

Hi,

Toner cartridges are for diferent regions (eg, NASG, ESG, DMO). Even the non-genuine toner must have installed on it chip for your region. Ckeck the part no. of old cartridges and replace them with the same.

Phaser 6280 Is there a Non-Genuine Toner mode?

Product Name: Phaser 6280
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Xerox Phaser 6280DN PS

Last firmware update version ending .....257

I have a "Invalid Toner" message on the control panel and a "Non-Genuine Toner" message in Printing Scout after installing compatible carts.

The service manual makes reference (see photo)  to enabling a "Non-Genuine Mode" to hopefully allow the use of non-oem carts but the service manual makes no further reference to it and I cannot find any such option in the control panel. In fact the control panel cannot be accessed with these compatible carts installed and I have to replace them with the old (empty) accepted carts in order to gain access to the control panel.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.
