Phaser 6280 magenta cartridge stuck

The exact same thing is happening to me. Magenta cartridge stuck with smear down the edge. Turning off the printer doesn't solve the problem. And the other cartridges come out with the printer on. I hear you about calling Xerox service. But the price of a service call is likely more than this old printer is worth.

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please make sure you have turned off the machine before trying to remove the cartridge.  Follow the instruction in the solution for How to Replace the Print Cartridge.  If the cartridge is still stuck please consider contacting your local support centre for further assistance.

Genuine Xerox cartridge, all other cartridge remove normally, no errors, printing normally (except some magenta toner smear on printout edge.  Pulling firmly on cartridge results in printer moving, not the cartridge.

Magenta cartridge motor appears to run normally (Magenta Toner Motor test).

Any help on removing stuck cartridge?
