Hi,
Unfortunately there is no snippet for recover the machine from this sate (fault code 124-315, which can happened from unauthorized user intervention in Diagnostic Mode by performing Factory Initialization Mode and which, by the way, it is not the same with Reset to Factory Defaults from Tools Mode). In this situation the intervention of a trained tech is really necessary to perform a specific Diagnostic routine to recover machine serial number.

Hey I have exactly the same issue and found this solution in an other community here: https://www.fixya.com/support/t27357789-xerox_phaser_6510_showsswitch_off_124 they talk about there is a snippet on the Xerox website to solve imaging unit recognition problems, link here: http://www.support.xerox.com/support/phaser-7760/downloads/engb.html?operatingSystem=winxp&fileLangu... Usually this problem only occurs if the NVRAM has been reset or the engine board has been replaced without backing up the NVRAM. You can download the snippet to your printer through Centreware or by downloading the 'File Downloader' utility from the same page above.
Is this "snippet" also available for ios user?
We ran into this on a couple of Xerox B405's after performing a Factory Init procedure. Here is what we did to rectify the fault:
Hold down the Home button for 6 seconds and then release. This brings up a password screen.
At the Password Screen, enter 6-7-8-9 and hit Enter.
Find and press the Diagnostics icon.
Select DC132 Device ID and Billing Data
That should display a screen showing three values assigned to IOT, SYS1 and SYS2 starting with Serial Number. All 3 values need to be the same under each column.
If these values are not the same under each, write down the serial number assigned to IOT.
Then go to the bottom of the screen and select IOT.
Then enter the serial number you just wrote down in both locations on the screen and press OK.
That should do it. The values displayed under IOT, SYS1 and SYS2 should now all be the same and the machine can be rebooted.
Dear Gabiene, I got the same error code 124-315, I have serial number on hand, how can I re boot for writer down to NVRAM? Please help.
Thank you so much.
Tommy
Hi,
124-315 is Serial Number Mismatch. You really need a tech to perform machine serial number resyncronization.

Hi,
I got called in for a service call as one of my customers had a paper jam on his Phaser 6510 which he had cleared but was still showing up on display, when i got on site i decided to power cycle the unit by unplugging the power cord and replugging. Aftr doing so, the printer came up with error code 124-315 which won't go away.
There's not much on the internet on this error other than the NVRAM needing a reset, Xerox wants the price of a new unit to have a look, printer is slightly over 1 year..
Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks!
