Your response got me to thinking... I went back to take a look at the cartridges. The owner of one of the 6700's was using Xerox brand supplies but the other had started saving money and getting LD brand aftermarket supplies from Amazon.
I borrowed the Xerox brand toners and installed them in the offending printer. That cleared the errors.
I reinstalled the LD brand and the printer recognized them as authentic Xerox so the faux Xerox must have screwed up some authetication handshake and the Xerox brand carts cleared the error.
I've suggested they use only authentic supplies to avoid issues.
First off, be sure they are actually locked
And hopefully they are the correct region coded toner, if not you would need to call Xerox, not sure if this model does region locking, or "snippets" (Metered vs non-metered) but this is the error you get in those cases.
Phaser 6700N, manfactured Dec 2013 - Unit was working fine until it reported two toner cartridges were missing/not locked. Removed toners, cleaned contacts and reinstalled: no change. Cycled power: no change. Tested toner cartridges in another 6700 and 2nd printer determined cartidges were fine. Reinstalled in 1st printer and the faults remain.
All supplies are Xerox brand.
