Re: Phaser 6700DN endlessly rebooting

This problem sounds similar to my problem https://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Printing/Xerox-6700-Random-Restarts/td-p/199176 but the restarts on mine are not endless. Restarts can happen, say once per hour overnight (we get the status pages as evidence in the morning) or during the day when users are printing.

I'm trying to find out if I can install the SPAR firmware upgrade (in the linked thread) withourt bricking my printer.

Did anyone get a fix to the endless-reboot problem?

Re: Phaser 6700DN endlessly rebooting

Ever find a resolution to the reboot problem?  We have a 6700dn doing the same thing.

Re: Phaser 6700DN endlessly rebooting

What was the ultimate solution to this problem?  We have several 6700DN printers doing the same thing.  The suggested power solution does not work.

Re: Phaser 6700DN endlessly rebooting

Hey!

If the printer is connected to a power strip, try connect the printer directly to the power source, outlet and see if that helps.

If possible try to put the printer in another room.

Phaser 6700DN endlessly rebooting

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

We had a 6700DN that would turn on, the power light blinks, then it says it's shutting down, and this would cycle over and over.  So we yanked it and put another in it's place.  Now the second one is doing the same thing.  Is there a way to get some useful information out of it?  Our first thought is some sort of power or environmental issue, but other equipment in the same location has had no problems.  We'd like to try to do something other than just put ina  third printer, hold our breaths, and see how long it might last :-)
