I agree 100% with everything here.
You might be able to pour from one to the other but it would be messy, and the chip would likely still show it as empty so it still may not work.
There is a Conversion Snippet for most printers to make them take either toner. I think Xerox charges $25 for it though.
Try sending me a PM, and in it specify the serial number and the current meter read (total number of printed impressions from the device)
I will see if I can get anything done quickly
Thanks Joe. It's infuriating as we were told by Xerox that this was the correct cartridge and thats supported by the part no.s on their consumables page. We bought a double toner pack so cant send them back.
Can the toner be poured from one into the other or is there a software switch which will solve this. If there isn't we won't be continuing tith Xerox which is a pity as we like the machine and are about to acquire another two. These cartridges aren't cheap so Xerox should not be leaving businesses feeling fleeced.
There are 2 different toners and you got the wrong one.
They are Metered and Sold. The difference is in your maintenance agreement with Xerox. Since you don't have one (sold) you need to buy the sold toner. The Metered toner is for people who purchased from Xerox and pay per page.
You can usually exchange the part with the seller because of this, of course that wont help for today. Physically the parts are identical, the only difference is in the chip (CRUM) embedded in it.
Yellow cartridge needed replacing. Used a genuine yellow toner cartridge but it wont accept it although it fits and appears identical to the old one. It says "wrong toner cartridge: Y". The one we fitted is part no 106ro2622 and the old one is 106ro2604.
Your consumables website and your call centre both say 106ro2622 is the correct one.
How do I get it to accept the new cartridge?
When I use the browser to read the full alert message it reads
|093-937||The machine cannot communicate with the Yellow Toner [Y] Cartridge CRUM chip. Replace the Yellow Toner [Y] Cartridge. Printing has stopped.|
Printer has only done circa 21,000 copies.
