Re: Phaser 7750DN Questions

This is for Your and anyone elses information:

The Phaser 7750 Has Toner cartridges for each 4 colors, there is an imaging unit for each color and for each imaging unit there is a developer drum. These are 3 separate units. NOT A Transfer roller. a refurbrished Developer Drum is right around $250.00. That being said,

Once the new developer drum was installed the printer is doing fine, just had to recalibrate for the colors.

Thanks for the help and information, I really appreciate it.

Re: Phaser 7750DN Questions

I did contact a certified Xerox Repair company, 2 of them as a matter of fact, the 1st repair company said it was the formatter board, so we changed it and it didn't work, then they wouldn't come back, the 2nd company said it was the controller board and the frame, so we replaced that, now the 2nd company has been out 3 times and they've walked away scratching their head, asking us to give them 1 or 2 weeks so they can read up on it. WOW...I understand that these are not simple machines, but to have a certified Xerox repair center, not know what's going on?

I guess my question is, where do I buy a developer drum or where do I buy the material that goes into it? Part numbers if possible would be nice. Thanks for any help.

Re: Phaser 7750DN Questions

Hi mhenson,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. There four toner cartridges one for each color, black, yellow, magenta and cyan.  The imaging unit is the part that transfers the image to the paper.  The developer drum may be what we call the transfer roller it is a part that works with the imaging unit to transfer the image.  These are all customer installable supplies

For the blotchy yellow please take a look at the solutions for patchy or blotchy.  If the problem continues please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Thanks,

Phaser 7750DN Questions

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

My Phaser 7750DN has been out of commisiion for about 5 weeks now and the "expert" we called in really doesn't seem to know what the problem is, although we're into this machine to the tune of about $1000 on repairs now..So question is:

What's the difference between the Toner cartridge / imaging unit / Developer Drum?

Symptoms: Yellow is Blotchy, which means the rest of the colors that mix with yellow are off too.

Problems are we were having Imaging board failure, so we changed that then the formatter board was supposedly bad anlong with the electrical carriage, so we changed that, then yellow imaging unit and toner went south, then the cyan image unit, then the Magenta Toner, so all this is changed and for whatever reason the yellow doesn't want to feed or comeout. Changed to another New Yellow toner cartridge and it's the same yellow blotchy that prints. Then I hear today that there is a developer drum that has to have some sort of material in it, so WHere's the drum, How do I remove it and how do I check to see if it's full or empty.

Thanks for your responses or suggestions on this.
