Re: Phaser 7750GX jams upon exit from fuser

Recently was performing preventatvie maintenance on a 7750 and while vacuuming the left cover assembly/fuser, I clipped the same flag and broke the tip off (thing is VERY brittle) and then the fuser kept jaming in the same spot or would make it half way out of the fuser and then jam.... NIGHTMARE.. went in to PREVENT maintenance and ended up CAUSING maintenance.  So I superglued some match sticks (without the heads of course) and had to trial and error how long they should be to cause the paper the travel all the way through the fuser.  So it is DEFINATELY the sensor flag, gonna have to order one and install out of my own pocket for my customer.. so moral of the story.. BE CAREFULL while messing with the fuser and the left cover assembly, the tiniest little bump on a centimeter of plastic will cause the huge printer not to work!!  Hope this helps someone else so they don't have a day like I had.  CHEERS!!

Re: Phaser 7750GX jams upon exit from fuser

The fuser exit sensor is located on the door assembly, just under the exit rollers.

It is not part of the fuser assembly.

Re: Phaser 7750GX jams upon exit from fuser

Where you successful in replacing the "exit sensor" on the fuser unit or did you simply replace the fuser? We're experiencing a variation of the same repeating paper jam problem. Our jaming problems occurs in the form of the trailing edge of the paper folding up like an accordion near the top of the fuser unit. Any comments or suggestions are welcome...

Re: Phaser 7750GX jams upon exit from fuser

Just one - possibly dumb - question :smileywink:

Is this sensor part of the fuser itself? My fuser is down to 10% or so and if it's a part of it, I may just order a new one now. If not, I'll have to figure out which bit it actually is. Haven't had any luck finding a service manual anywhere and none of the docs seem to help much in identifying components.

Thanks for your help! I'm dying to actually put this beast to work in my business instead of using it as a very large doorstop :-)

Re: Phaser 7750GX jams upon exit from fuser

The fuser "Exit Sensor" is broken. To be more accurate the Flag on the fuser exit sensor is broken. This is a common repair and takes about 10 minutes to install a new exit sensor. The flag is located in the left door assembly that closes over the fuser. Rockdude

Phaser 7750GX jams upon exit from fuser

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi all,

I purchased this printer used and I know it did work prior to shipment, since the seller provided me the dated self-test printout, but it has not worked for me. It seems to print fine up until the very last step. It jams up as it exits the fuser and won't feed through the final set of rollers. I've tried many different types of paper and reseated the fuser, to no avail. I've gone through the FAQs here, but nothing I've tried has worked. The actual printing looks good, it just won't feed out beyond the fuser.

I'm just wondering if anyone has some suggestions as to what the source of the problem might be.  Looking at the parts lists, I'm wondering if perhaps a belt has slipped somewhere, resulting in the exit rollers not rolling. I just don't want to start messing with it without a game plan.  Suggestions?
