Could check the device settings for the Paper Management, under Properties -> General Setup. Could change depeneding on model of printer.
A good place to check in this section would be the Required Paper Policies.
Thankyou. I might will leave the NVRAM option as a near last resort. I'm mindful that it wipes all settings and I'm just concerned that might introduce a host of other issues, rather than this isolated current one.
Just going to throw this out there, Could this be happening from the user computer. As this error can also be displayed when someone is sending a incorrect paper size print job.
I would double check to make sure that the job being sent is using the correct paper settings. Sometime's what will happen if a user changes the paper settings, and forgets to change them back.
Example: I set a print job to Letter A6, And then try to print to Letter 8x11, And there is no tray supporting that paper size, I would get this error. And the print job will stay in the printer queue waiting for the correct paper size.
Hello Glyph.
Thank you for using the Customer Support Forum.
If the 7800 has the trays installed, but states that the tray is missing, this is either a corrupt memory issue or a hardware issue. You can attempt a NVRam Reset via Printer > Setup >Service Tools >Reset NVRam, but this may require service.
If you still have issues please contact us at 1-800-821-2797 so that we may continue to troubleshoot this issue with you.

We have a Phaser 7800 that is near new and was working fine, and was turned off for a few weeks. On turning it back on it no longe spools print jobs and the print queue shows an error stating "Paper Tray is Missing". I'm not sure if at some point somebody has changed settings on it, or if it's somethign else.
All trays are installed correctly. Papers sizes have all been setup for each tray. I can't work out what else is causing this. When I print to it, the printer makes a warm up sound, as though it's about to print, but then stops, and the jobs stay in the queue.
Any advice on resolving this is appreciated
