Phaser 7800 (software) crashing during paper load

In the meantime I got the same info from Cream1978 ... and it worked !!!

Much better than paying a flat price of 500 EUR in advance für a xerox technician.

Try resetting the NVRAM. No guarantees with this.

I have exactly the same problem.

We did the firmware update, but the problem still exists.

What could be the source of this problem?

Sounds Familiar. make sure the printer's System software (Firmware) is up to date. The current General Release Version is 81.150.103.05600 available from 7800 Support and drivers. IF it does not help, contact Support for the most recent Version.

Hi guys,

all of sudden I have a problem with my Phaser 7800. The printer self works fine, but since today the printer (software) is crashing when I load paper into Tray 1 (the outside one). Tray 2 (the internal one) is working fine, there are no problems.

The problem comes when I start a print project to tray 1, the printer gives me the message that it needs the right resources like always. Then I fill tray 1 with the right paper and normaly you then specifiy the paper in the printer display and the print job starts. Since today, when I fill the paper in tray 1, the screen from the printer gets black and after a few minutes comes the printer starting screen and freeze. Sometimes there is coming a message that I have to restart the printer. When i restart it all works fine again, untill I fill paper into tray 1. There is coming no error message or anything else, it just "crashes" and freezes so that i have to restart the printer. 

Anybody an idea where this problem comes from and how I can fix this?
