Just wanted to let you know that this was very helpful. I had to print about 100 copies of each page with 100% color fill in order for the color to go back to what it was supposed to be. The yellow was brownish, and the magenta was pretty much a lavender purple, similar to the post button on this website.

The extra pages coming out in the printer was resolved with a driver update using the Web Installer (PostScript Driver)

The blank pages may be due to a driver, network, or paper size issue.  The blank pages may be "cleaning pages" that come through following a jam or communication issue that the machine thinks just happened.  It's the machine's way or purging the paper path after a jam condition - it will run the feeding mechanism in the entire paper path in an attempt to clear any paper that may be left in the machine from a paper jam.

As for the colors, if this printer is not used all that often, or if color prints aren't made all that often, the ink can "cook" over time as the ink sticks are being heated constantly in the print head reservoir.  This can cause the color shift that your user(s) are seeing. There is a article in the Knowledge Base for stagnant ink and I have copied a link to it for you below. Unfortunately, you will probably have to purge the print head by printing full color pages to get the color back to normal.

One of our users are having issues printing to their Phaser 8400.  The printer is on a Windows 2000 Server as a shared printer.  The client machine is Windows XP SP3.

User reports printing 1 copy of a document, but will get multiple print outs, along with some blank sheets with a faint grey line through the middle.  For some reason, this will happen only on the first few jobs, primiarily in the morning.

On top of that, the user also reports that the color seems to be slightly off.  Red appears to be a brownish orange as opposed to the vibrant red.  I have reset the machine, used a maintanance kit, and did all the color correction options and was unable to fix it.
