Hi mrotheram,
If you have already tried powering off waiting 60 seconds and powering back on with no success then you would need to replace the ink if that does not clear the error then service would need to look at the printer.
Hi,
The problem is that the printer never goes online - the light stays red, Is there any way of getting past this? Changing the driver setting does not make any difference.
Hi Ta,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at this solution for setting the driver to black and white as the defualt and see if that helps. If not you will need to replace the cyan.
Hi,
I have the exact same problem, is there a way of getting past the Add cyan ink message to print in B&W?

Hello Johnnyb,
Has your toner order arrived yet and is your machine up and running?
Hello all, first post here. I've been given on an extended loan a phaser 8550. It's got plenty of toner, accept cyan, that one's empty. The message on the display (after I replaced the display with a working one) indicated that I should add cyan ink, "Prints that use only black and white will still print" However, nothing is printing. Also, I can't seem to clear the message.
I've got some cyan on order and it should arrive in a few days but does anyone know a way to...reset this thing? I've tried powering down, I've tried going through Centreware IS and resetting it that way...but nothing. I've thrown a test page at it but realized that probably has some color elelments so then I printed a "Hello world" from Notepad...still nada. The print job did go through from my laptop once. I left the print job in the laptop and reset the printer (power on/off). During the boot sequence the print job cleared my laptop and (I beleive) went to the printer...but nothing prints AND I don't see anything in the "Jobs" seciong of Centreware IS either. Yes, there is paper in the printer. It's just complaing about the cyan needing refilled.
Any help/advice is great appreciated.
