Phaser 8560 RAM error after extended shutdown

- printer was shut down for 4 weeks due to non-use.

- printer was shut down properly/cleanly using front panel

- printer was not moved

- on restart, front panel showed "RAM ERROR" message

- tried reseating factory-shipped RAM (256MB module)

- on power-on, panel continued to show "RAM ERROR"

- tried installing brand-new 512MB 333MHz SODIMM (PC2700) module

- on power-on panel continues to show "RAM ERROR"

any suggestions?

Re: Phaser 8560 RAM error after extended shutdown

Hey!

Can you access the menues?

If so try resetting it by following THIS

Otherwise you might need to get an enginer to have a look at it.

Best Regards

Kimzi

Panel simply says "RAM Error".  using the panel keys does nothing.

Every RAM error I've had so far has been pretty straight forward. Try putting your new RAM in the second ram slot on the board. I've had at least one instance where the slot and the chip went bad at the same time.
