Re: Phaser 8560 locked up during intitializing

Nevermind... I found a disk image that I burned to the drive and it's working fine.

Re: Phaser 8560 locked up during intitializing

What else is needed on the drive itself to "extract and load" the PS file? Is there additional software or OS?  Is there a particular directory structure that is needed?  I can extract the file from the downloaded zip and format/partition the drive in any configuration needed.  I just don't have the resources to pay for a "service tech" to swap a $50 hard drive and provide routine pc maintenance.  I'm beginning to think that Xerox is a poor choice.

No, You need a special software to install it on a fresh drive as there is nothing currently on the drive to extract and load the PS file.

Can I simply format the drive (NTFS or FAT32) and place the postscript file in the root?  Is anything else required?

You will need to call in for servicing. A tech will need to load the firmware onto the HDD

Phaser 8560 locked up during intitializing

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

My 8560 recently received a new, clean/unformatted, hard drive.  When it powers on all the self tests, including the Disk Drive, pass and it proceeds to "Initializing" but that is as far as it gets; no connectivity USB or Network, no keyboard response and no error displayed.  Is there a special formatting for the drive or some kind of OS that needs to be installed?
