I searched our knowledge base and found an article with steps for you to try and resolve the issue. 

 

Machine Does not Recognize New Ink Stick

Printer not recognizing ink

We purchased genuine Xerox solid ink boxes ( 108R01014 to 108R01017 ). These fit into the ink slots of our Colorqube 8900. However, the printer does not recognize them. Firmware version is 072.162.004.09100

Ive tried software reset etc. but it doesnt work. Infact, the ink loader cover refuses to shut after it gives the wrong ink error, unless i reboot it a couple of times. Ive tried calling Xerox but they ask that we renew our service contract which we tried to do but couldnt because they dont support the colorqube 8900 anymore. The printer prints fine however i need to replace the ink soon. Please advice. Thanks
