Re: Printer stuck in startup loop

I've been away for a few weeks, and haven't got back to the problem yet, but perhaps you should count yourself fortunate that your printer was able to get as far as being able to upgrade the firmware!

Re: Printer stuck in startup loop

Hi,

Did you ever figure out what was wrong?

Mine started to do this a couple of weeks ago.

I upgraded the Firmware last night (64.69.91) but today it still does the same.

If it is a power issue, then it doesn't seem to be straightforward.
When the printer was in the startup loop it was plugged directly into a wall socket, using the supplied power lead. I tried it again an hour ago, and it still looped a few times. I then connected it to an extension block, using an old lead from a disused printer. The printer started after about five loops. I didn't use it immediately, so it went into power save, and looped again a few times before printing a job I sent it some time later.
Once the printer has been switched off and allowed to cool, I’ll need to check the various permutations of old and new lead, wall socket and extension lead to see if there’s a significant change in behaviour. What I can’t do is check the mains supply voltage and frequency as I don’t have a suitable metering device.

Printer stuck in startup loop

Product Name: Phaser 6510
Operating System: macOS 11 - Big Sur

When the printer (Phaser 6510) is turned on at the wall, the LED screen lights up with the message "Please Wait..". That stays up for a few seconds, switches off, then restarts. The whole cycle takes about 12-15 seconds, and, as I type, has been going like that for at least 45 minutes.

The printer is new (bought and installed June 2022), had the then latest firmware installed (64.68.81), and worked perfectly until the last fortnight or so. Since then startup has become increasingly protracted, as the cycle described above started. Initially it would cycle a couple of times before booting properly, then increase the number of cycles (doing so for a few minutes), until now, when it is not booting at all.

Any ideas?
