Re: Printer stuck in startup loop

Thanks, that makes things a bit clearer. However all in all it's very disappointing that relieving the device from the infinite boot loop requires a technician! Who knows when the printer will enter the boot loop next time - and again needs a technician. Really no reset function ?

Re: Printer stuck in startup loop

The alt boot, is a total factory reset of the copier. The USB is used to save the current copier's settings so whent he factory reset is complete, an upload of the saved settings can be done. An alt boot requires a technicain to perform. This isn't done by the customer. Contact our customer support department at 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.

Re: Printer stuck in startup loop

Thanks for the suggestion!

I have seen on the web that there is an ALT Boot for some Xerox printers, which effectively means booting from an USB device, right ? However I don't know, if this also applies to the B215 Model and how to carry it out. I have tried to prepare an USB stick with the current firmware B215_V3.50.01.64_20200715.hd and power on the printer with the USB stick plugged in. But this didn't work.

Could you give some more detailed advice or direct me to some location where I can find help on this.

Thank you, Nicolino

Hello,

The last option, you can try is an ALT Boot, however, I suggest you contact our customer support department to request a service call and have a service tech provide this service. Our support department can be reached at 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.

Printer stuck in startup loop

Product Name: Xerox B215 Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 10

I have a Xerox B215 Multifunction Printer which I bought on April 24, 2021. Starting a couple of days ago I first experienced a reboot when trying to scan to eMail or using FTP to a NAS. Both ways worked perfectly before.

I tried to switch off IPv6 (assuming this might be the reason) in the Printer WEB-GUI but after the recommended reboot IPv6 was still ON and the scan problem also persisted. Then I switch to IP4v on my Router and the printer also now accepted switching off IPv6.

But the result now was that the printer ended up in an infinite boot loop. I have seen that the issue was posted by others but there seems to be no solution until today. I have tried everything I could find on the WEB without success.

Now I have a roughly 2 year old Multifunction Printer and cannot use it anymore. No way to get access to it for a hard reset or firmware update. Very disappointing !

Any ideas a very welcome, thanks.
