Replacement Toner Not Recognized

Product Name: Phaser 3260

I am replacing the toner on my Phaser 3260 for the first time.  I ordered a genuine Xerox toner cartridge from Amazon (which is where I bought the printer).  When I put it in the machine, the machine recognizes that there is a cartridge, but then immediately the "no toner" light goes on as if the new toner is empty.  I bought the high capacity replacement cartridge; I don't think that should make a difference.

Thoughts?
