yes. as I said I land on the welcome page, I can see toner status and other stuff, but when I try to login to administer addressbook, or to configure the printer, I always get wrong password error!
I tried admin, admin1111, 11111, noone of these worked!
It's weird that a Xerox assistant left me with a locked printer, I'm getting mad!!!!!
I need to unlock it asap!
Today I called italian support and they expect me to PAY for something their tecnician screwed up! This is totally a BAD advertising for Xerox!
Hello maxxer,
Are you sure that your internet connection is functioning properly? If you have a Configuration Page, please read through it and make sure that you have both TCP/IP and HTTP enabled on your 6121MFP. Without TCP/IP and HTTP enabled, you will not be able to access CWIS (CenterWare Internet Services). You must also have Java Script enabled in your Internet Browser on your computer.
John
thanks for your reply, but resetting network settings changed IP and NOT the password! :( it's still something I don't know!
Did you perhaps change the default password? the user manual says the default pw is blank, pressing login with empty field should allow access to CentreWare. Is it something different from that?
I can call Xerox support, but it's their fault if I cannot login anymore! They went away without telling me they set a different password, and didn't leave it to me!!!!
Hello maxxer,
If you press the Menu button on the front panel of the machine, then go to Connection Setup, and then click on Network Setup, and finally select Reset to Default, this will allow you to gain access to the machine once again which is what you are looking for. You should print a configuration report (Start Up Page) before doing this just in case your network settings are changed to the default.
If this does not work, you will need to call your local Xerox Support Technician for your machine.
thanks for your reply but you must be mistaken, this is not the path of a Phaser 6121 menù.
Anyway I checked network settings and I have no settings about NVM, I can just set back to default all IP configuration, but I'd rather not erase it all if I cannot login anymore!
thanks
Hello maxxer,
I know that you said you do not like the control panel, but it is the only way to reset your password. I have written the steps below for you to reset your web password.
I hope that this helped get your password reset.
John
Hi.
I recently got replaced the IP Board of a Phaser 6121, and the operator changed web password without telling me which one he set!
Now I'm left with a printer I cannot administer via web, and panel is such a pain...
Is there any procedure I can follow to reset pw? I didn't find any on the user manual.
Thanks
