Thank you.

I took the back cover off and did your suggestion.

It now loads up after self test and lets me copy.I did both types of scans. I did duplex and it worked fine too.

Thank you for your help on that.

So far the only other thing I notice is the Office Finsinsher causing a communication fault unless I manually turn the stapler into position with the knob.

I'm also going to reach out and see about a service call and will need consumables in the future although both modules are over 75% and 365 days on the document feeder roll.

It was broken (or something internal was shaken loose) while being moved. I would try tearing it down in back and re-seating the cables on the HDD and motherboard at the very least.

A reset won't help at all, the printer is not tied to a network, and it would boot up all the way and just not allow access if it had been locked to a Network Server for authentication/Access and would have entirely different errors if it had been hooked up physically to a 3rd party controller like an eCopy or some such thing

If the admine credentials were changed you would need someone to access and change it via Diagnostics/Engineering mode, which is certainly not something we can disclose here, you would need a tech visit, which is not free for sure.

Setup WorkCentre 5665

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hello everyone.

We purchased a WorkCentre 5665 with office finisher from a county auction to use for our business. Worked great there and it got unplugged from their network and rolled out to us.

My question is setting it up.

We will be using it in a 3 computer, all hardwired lan, office.

I am going to need to do a full reset. By the time I realized I needed that, well, too late. They won't give the password to get into the unit to do a software reset. It is DOA right now even for copying. I can't take it back down to them, hook it back into their network and do a reset.

I am not sure how to proceed.

After that I am not sure what software, other than drivers, to get from Xerox. I see several different downloads. We have one master computer that our current printers are connected to, files are served from, etc and Windows Networking connects the other computers to the printer.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Right now it comes on, flashes network communication error and can't go any further.
