If scan doesn't work, the driver is no part of the issue. It is literally going off line.
Upgrade the firmware and see if it resolves it.
I have a print server where the many-functional printer is developed.
Every user added this printer via hostname (\\server\xerox wc 7425).
It is configured with a static IP address.
When I've made unpressed the buttons "LPR Byte Counting Enabled" and "SNMP Status Enabled" - it's happening not in every using of sleep mode, 1-2 times a day. When it is happening, scan doesn't work (and we see a 027-516 error) and print-tasks are stopping. After a reboot, all print tasks are going which were sent before sleep mode activated.
So the issue is entirely unrelated? If it was actually off the LAN and can't print or scan or anything not Copy/fax then you need to describe the details.
Are you printing via IP or hostname?
Is DCHP or Static addresses set on the printer?
Does it happen every time you use sleep mode or just once?
Ok, I explain in another way.
As you suggested before, I've made unpressed the buttons "LPR Byte Counting Enabled" and "SNMP Status Enabled". Everything was fine for a half day, but when the machine in another time went to the save energy regime and fell asleep, then after that the machine hadn't been printing till a reboot was made.
I have no idea what you are saying is wrong at this point, but if SNMP is not enabled, it cannot be showing as offlne in Windows.
And if the printer messed up itself, it isn't related, we have changed nothing on the printer.
So you need to explain this new issue, because "awaked didn't work. Only after reboot." makes no sense
Unfortunately, I was hurried when was marking this question as closed. Because again it happend: the machine went down and after it awaked didn't work. Only after reboot.
Any other ideas what can be the reason?
Oh, I don't know why, but when "LPR Byte Counting Enabled" was unpressed everything has worked.
Thank you for the decision.
When I did that yes, the machine is shown as online; but when I try to print on it - an error is appearing. Unpressed SNMP doesn't work.
It isn't firmware, the issue is SNMP and isn't worth troubleshooting, just disable it on the port server-side (It does nothing useful anyway)
Good day.
Please, help me to decide the problem. Prior yesterday, my WC 7425 worked correctly, but now I have a problem. The machine can be reached by IP (pings are going) and I can print on it, if I add it by IP on my PC. When I add this machine through a print server - it shows as offline and can't be reached.
I thought that it could be because of the firmware: I have the same model, second machine, and it works correctly. I see that the right one has the firmware's version 1.222.10, and the wrong one has the version 1.222.3. I want to update the firmware of the second WC 7425, but doesn't find it on the website.
