I've installed Microsoft XML Paper Specification Essentials pack, then changed the driver back to PCL 6 and now I have WorkCentre working!
Can't say you saved my life, but you definitely saved my nerves. Thanks!
Install either the Microsoft XML Paper Specification Essentials pack, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=11816 , or .net frame work version 4 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851 to correct this issue.
Hello,
it's the second day we've bought WorkCentre 3335, and second day of my nightmare. It has been installed smoothly as Network Printer via WiFi and perfectly found by PCs in the office (Win7 mostly). But then it came to our old server machine with WinServer 2003 R2 Enterprise x64, and... It doesn't print. Printer Wizard can't find it as a Network Printer, but it's no problem as the Driver Installer uses some soft to look it out by itself, and then installs needed drivers. Then I can acces to Printer's settings, but when I try to print, it shows no error and no reaction from WorkCentre. When I try to print test page, it drops the one and only error - Test page failed to print.
Things I've tried:
1. Driver uninstall/reinstall/change. PS, PCL 5, PCL 6, Global Print, all fresh and shiny downloaded from Xerox website - no use, same error. I've even tried to reboot server after driver's installation (rather hard to do, though, as server is being used by many people).
2. Port configure. RAW, LPR - no use, same error. This is the way I've installed Global Print Drivers - by linking them to the IP of Printer directly, as Internet Installer doesn't work.
3. Share printer from another PC (where it works) - no use, same error.
Temporary solution:
I've manually set driver to HP LaserJet L6 (Windows-preinstalled), now at least it can print (thanks for the ideas from here). This shows that the issue is in the driver solely.
Now the thing prints, but it's not the way I like it to do, and there's no features of WorkCentre (like double-sided print and others).
Any more ideas?
