Re: WorkCentre 5019/5021 / Linux scanner driver

Thanks for your replies and sorry for my delay!

If there was an answer in the knowledgebase I would never post this topic.

This model is unsupported by sane backend so no any soft could be helpful.

For this moment I managed to have the Xerox WorkCentre 5019 print properly (without delays and jobs disappearing) by blacklisting the usblp module. But scanner doesn't work at all.

It would be perfect to contact with driver developers and try to resolve this issue together.

What is the right way to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Re: WorkCentre 5019/5021 / Linux scanner driver

Hi, Vaso!

There won't be any newer drivers for this machine, though I suggest you try SANE, or Vuescan etc.  it just might work.

Best Regards

Kimzi

WorkCentre 5019/5021 / Linux scanner driver

Product Name: WorkCentre 5019/5021
The scanner driver for Linux OS of the device is unusable for the next reasons: 1. It is obsolete: built for 3 years old OS and only for _i386_ architecture!! 2. Even for this extinct architecture it was built incorrectly, e.g. in Ubuntu 12.04 the link to "libm" is broken and scanner doesn't work without LD_PRELOAD=/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libm.so.6 variable. Does anybody know the way to get a proper scanner driver of the device for Linux operating system?
