That fault usually means replace imaging unit for that color. 

It's making marks on belt and the mark is too light for that color, so it assumes the toner is out

But in fact the drum is not turning/ not writing dark enough to belt.

Old post but might help someone else.

Do not replace the toner with the low toner warning. Wait for the display to tell you to replace toner. Many machines have this issue if you replaced the toner early. Put the old toner back in and wait until that toner is empty. The message should go away after the empty toner is replaced.

BTW, waiting gets better yield, don't change it early.

Hello all,

Replaced toner after receiving a low toner warning, but will not recognize that it’s been replaced. I’ve tried reinstating cartridge, as well as rebooting printer. I’ve verified that both toners have the same part numbers. 

Any help greatly appreciated.
