The upgrade with this version had no problem...
Next step: Ugrade to version 65.50.61. I downloaded and extracted it again - md5sum was the same so no failure on my side.
And the upgrade worked - same laptop, same update, same firmware.
In my opinion a direct upgrade didn't work and an additional step with firmware version 65.35.01 https://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-6515/file-download/enus.html?operatingSystem=win7x6... ) was needed.
What do you mean with "accidentally open the bin file on the PC instead of sending it to the printer as is"?
I didn't open the file in any way. I extracted the zip and uploaded the bin file with the update utility - as described in the documentation: "Select the “.bin” file, then select [Open].".
I don't have any further ideas but maybe some older firmware updates might help.
Unfortunately i can't find other versions for download.
Try 65.54.21
The fault says its :
Which typically happens when you accidentally open the bin file on the PC instead of sending it to the printer as is.
Current (delivered) firmware of my printer: 65.31.81.
I tried to upgrade to 65.50.61_WC6515 with fwdl5.3.6.0ww-20190524-1 from an up to date Windows 10
Then i did a factory reset and tried again using USB -> error 017-759.
The good thing: The printer recovers to the old firmware.
The bad thing: The upgrade does not work and i have no idea how to fix it.
