I don't see anything in my post that would affect accounting in any way, no matter the accounting origin.
In any case, update to the latest firmware and see what happens, if it fails, call Xerox to get 2nd level support. They will need the Configuration report scanned to PDF and the machine logs from the printer to diagnose the matter.
Thanks for the tip Joe, but this kicks off our print tracking 3rd party software and makes the xerox local accounting as only option greyed out in properties. So users must enter a user id to print. And we don't have any user ID for this.
I saw in other post response that you said the greyed out accounting option is because of the bidrectional setting. So i cleared that and i think back to "normal" sitatuon now. Really would like to not have to reboot machine every single morning. Any other ideas on how to fix this issue?
Thanks for the info i will give that a try.
The machines are truly offline in the mornings, cant access CWIS, cant scan, cant ping and no one can print. i will start with the spar and go from there.
Newest spar is here. It's a tool installer, so just run the file in the zip from your desktop PC.
The issue you have sounds more like an SNMP issue though, and if that is the case, these are the expected symptoms.
1. Windows shows the printer greyed out and in an Offline status
2. CWIS still works (Webpage in the machine)
3. Scanning still works (proves the machine is not actually offline
4. While most cannot print, some people still can
5. Issue does not occur on Mac OSX, only Windows.
Now if most, or all of those 5 are true, make the following changes on the driver Properties
And don't worry about the SNMP not being enabled, it is in fact, the issue in your case, it conflicts with the SNMP under the Configuration tab in my experience. And since this one is where the 2-way communication is done, it is the one you want enabled.
And, since I have you in here, might as well disable this feature since it causes some lockups in MS office, and disabling it does nothing at all that you will see.
And might as well go one step further and make a change in Printing Preferences too, this one will stop font corruption in some jobs where the printer tries and fails to replace a font in your job with one resident on the machine (When it doesn't know the right font, it almost always decides to use Wingdings, seriously, Wingdings, which means I get a call about the printer "printing gibberish")
And as a last note, if Windows 10, always do a manual install (Choose The printer I want isn't listed, or it will on the next reboot convert it to a WSD port, which is not at all stable) And disable the Query the printer option and select the driver you have in C:\Xerox, else it will use a Generic V4 driver,)
We have workcentre 20 7835's that were just recently installed, running SW version 073.010.075.34540.
On a consistant basis 4 of those machines are "Offline" every morning and require system restart before users can print to them.
I verified that all 20 of these machines are running the version listed above. Is there a spar i can intall on the affected machines or any other setting that i may be over looking? The colorqubes that were in place before the 7835's didnt have this issue.
Any advice is appreciated.. Thank you,
