best to call xerox and ask for an engineer/intervention then
I just:
* booted the machine without the HDD -> same message (Download Mode), no fault code either
* formatted the drive with NTFS -> no results
* used " WC5222_5225_5230-PS-1_207_8.bin " -> no results
Hello Fabio,
Do you know which filesystem the Workcentre is using?
To be clear, you are holding the power saver button and then turning the machine on with the regular power button right?
Be sure to note Fabio's responses, he is much more educated on these devices and the reloading of them than I am.
another solution i have read somewhere else:
Problem:
Machine will Display download mode while switching on the MachineCause:
HDD Corruption
Solution:
Removed the HDD and formatted externally amd fixed back into the machine and it started working fine
make sure you have the CORRECT firmware
you can have a machine with OR without a PS option
so if you have the PS option, you need to use the PS firmware! :)
Hello Joe,
I formatted the thumb drive again (FAT32), made a folder " DWLD ", copied the file: " WC5222_5225_5230-STD-1_207_8.bin " into it and put the drive into the machine. I've holded the button for almost two minutes without any response from the machine.
I'm starting to think something went terribly wrong..... :(
The folder is DWLD, not dwld .
Make sure you have the right firmware extracted and placed into the folder.
When you power on, have the power saver held down and do not release it until it starts.
Nope, nothing wrong with the "Energy Saver" button.
About the "dwld" folder: I've tried that one already today. (aswell as "upgrade" and "altboot" both on FAT32)
However not while pressing the Energy button when the machine is booting up; That because the machine always says: Download Mode...
I'll try it out tomorrow.
Thanks for replying/helping.
