Another piece of info - Status says No Reception but I assumed that was because the set up was not completing.
I am trying to set up my wifi on the 6027 and I am following the directions you have referenced but I am unable to get it to work. I am choosing our home network name and using the password that we have established for it and works on all of our other devices, but it still will not complete the connection. Is there some step I am missing? I would appreciate an answer asap as I have had this printer for a while and not been able to use it for the main function I bought it for - wifi to print from all my network devices. TIA!
Agreed,
I see it on page 36 of the User guide. I don't have the software it is talking about to test it, I hope it is worded poorly and the printer in question is a picture of a printer in the application.
It would make no sense to have a WPS button on a printer , only the router needs such a thing, on the printer side, or on a laptop, or on a phone, you either choose by software to look for a WPS device, then hit the button on the router, or simply choose the Wireless network SSID after touching thew WPS button on the router.
Thanks, but shame on Xerox for publishing a manual with incorrect information like this!
The 6027 doesn't have a WPS button.
On the 6027 you go to Machine status > Tools > Admin Setting > Network > Wireless > Wireless Setup Wizard
Then just pick your wireless and enter the code.
To have a WPS button you would need to buy the WPSA-100.
I am attempting to set up a new Xerox Workcentre 6027 and the instructions for Wi-fi Protected Setup say to simply "press and hold the WPS botton on the printer"....but I see no button labeled WPS and no where in the entire manual does it identify a WPS button. Can anyone help me identify where this button is?
