Hi,

For this fault code you need to replace the flatbed scanner.

I have had the Xerox Workcentre 6515 for over 2 years and only use this machine for private use. Total number of orders given to the device in these 2 years is 500 pieces. Mainly printer assignments. I hardly use the scan option. From one day to the next I got error code 062-380. When I look up this code on the internet, the problem points to the scan function. The printer function works normally without any problem. However… because of the error code, the display of the Workcentre remains on and the room where the printer is located is never dark again. I cannot turn off the display. So I have to turn on and off when printing. I have been in contact with Xerox in the Netherlands. Because the warranty has expired, they don't want to do anything for me. No help at all. I can send the Workcentre in for repair. The price of repair will then be 2 x the price of a new Workcentre. Silly !!! During my search for error code 062-380 I found several questions on internet sites from Xerox Workcentre 6515 users. For years, questions have been asked about a solution to error code 062-380. Nowhere can I find an answer that I can use. Many users with the same problem hardly use the scan function ... yet a problem arises. For the past few weeks I have been in contact with Xerox and asked if there is a service manual that describes how to resolve the error code. If necessary, I can solve the problem myself with any spare parts. No response from Xeros so far. Xerox should be deeply ashamed. The printer works without a problem. Do I now have to put the entire machine in the trash and buy a new printer? All this is beyond belief. NEVER a Xerox machine for me again.

Hi, did you find a DIY solution for the scanner error? I have the same problem, and I'd like not to replace the whole flatbed scanner... Thanks!

Hi,

Unfortunately there is no other solution for the moment, so you must replace the hole scanner. It looks like the CIS that is present in scanner and DADF is custom made, until now I did not find anything else.

I have had the Xerox Workstation privately for 2 ½ years now. Scan function is now defective after almost not being used. That is why I tried to use Warranty after the warranty period because it is strange that the scan function is already broken.

I have now been talking to my supplier and Xerox Netherlands for more than 4 weeks. I can offer the Workstation for repair, but this will cost me 720 euros. The purchase price of the workstation was 350 euros at the time. This means that repair will cost me 2 x the price of a new device. Of course I'm not going to do that.

The device is like new. The printer function is excellent. An additional problem is that my display stays on as long as the error message is not resolved. The room where the printer is located is lit day and night because I cannot turn off the display. Every time I want to print, I now have to turn the printer on and then off again

Since the printer is 2½ years old, I am willing to pay a maximum of 175 euros for repair of the scan function. Both the supplier and Xerox do not want to accommodate me. So now I am left with a worthless device that I have to throw in the garbage as new. I am very angry about that and never buy a Xerox machine again and do not recommend that to anyone.

j'ai exactement le même problème    une semaine après fin de garantie même erreur .062-380

C’est le capteur ccd qui est surement défectueux   0 moins  que ce soit la carte mère qui a un programme spécial ….

" je tombe en panne à la fin de la garantie".

j’ai contacté Xerox réponse   je ne peux  vous donner des détails   et direct "je peux vous faire un devis ........

j’ai envoyer des mail au sav   avec explication  et j ai trouver une astuce pour dégagé le code et pouvoir faire un scan    .là on voit une bande noire  de  deux centimètres côté droit    -la lumière fonctionne bien , ça doit être le CCD  partiellement défectueux- et puis retour blocage 062-380.

PAS DE REPONSE …….

j ai contacter le distributeur xerox de ma région : on va vous rappeler ..... j’attends toujours ....aucune reponses.

 

 

la qualité d’une marque se voit dans la résolution des litiges  .je vous laisse les conclusions....    ESCROCS

I had the same problem.  I googled a bit, and after a couple of false starts including this discussion I found a Xerox support article titled: "Fault Code 062-380: Insufficient Lamp Brightness was Detected When Performing AGC".  Here's the link. If it's broken, google again on the title.  Briefly, it explained how to clean the relevant surfaces.  I followed the simple instructions - took me about 2 minutes - switched off, waited 30 seconds and switched on again.  Problem solved.  

I can't understand why this hasn't been mentioned in this discussion so far, unless I've missed something.  Hope this helps!

Thanks for your message..
I found the link to the error code 062-380 with instructions on how to solve it, a while ago after trying to find everything. I've tried cleaning that part several times ... even this morning. Unfortunately the error code persists and I cannot use the scan function.
I still get angry at the thought that I have to pay 2x the price of new value for repair.
Also ridiculous is that I can't turn off the display because of the error message. The display stays on. I am still very angry and frustrated.

You absolutely have my sympathy.  I'm just a Xerox customer, nothing more, and I love the kit, but the support is kind of limited unless you've bought it from a reseller who will help.  This seems to be the preferred way of doing things for Xerox, who don't see their market as domestic consumers but rather as medium to large businesses.  It might be worth contacting a local reseller, and trying to buy an hour of their time, or some such.  Don't know what else I can suggest.  Good luck!

Not sure if that helps, but it is not locked or stuck it seems.  It could be broken or unhooked as you have stated, but if it moves and flashes on, does that mean it could be something else
