I have the same error and my warranty is 2 months past the expiration date. I rarely use the scanner so not sure why the assembly is broken. Now I have to take it into a Xerox shop to swap out the scanner assembly. Who knows how much this will cost. I'm pretty much sitting on a $450 brick.
I also have a workcentre 6515. After updating the drivers, the scanner cannot be reached either from the computer nor from the unit itself. The printer hasn't even printed 100 pages and the scanner used only a couple times. I tried reinstalling the software, no effect. Restored to factory settings, still no effect. Called tech service here in Sweden and they cannot find the unit registration (completed twice) and they will not help without such.
This is a new unit with no damage and it seems this is a common problem for many. It should be a no-brainer that the unit should still be under some kind of warranty since the release date of this model was not that long ago. A unit that has been used as little as this should't break down from so little use. I have printers and scanners many years old and they still work.
After all the reviews of this product thought I made a great choice and that this company would be best at supporting their products althoght never had the need before this. I hope Xerox's good reputation still holds true, else i have had a very expensive 100 pages.
This is a manufacturing defect and quality issue that I hope gets resolved. It is a heavy unit to carry around if I have to. Looking forward to finally getting a positive response as it is critical that i get this fixed asap. Thanks
This printer comes with a one year warrenty so I imagine every 6515 is covered at this point.
062-380:AGC Fail
The scanner will need to be changed so call Xerox
Hi, can you please say step by step what i can do.
Which cables do you mean and which platten. Can you describe it a little bit more?
how can i verify if it is locked, stuck in position or broken/unhooked
i can see a lot of perople whit the same problem in the internet (when i search the code 062-380 xerox)
it would be great to get a solution i think a lot of people would be very thankful :-)
Sorry for the late reply.
So when I power on it on, the scanning lamp moves back and forth about a quarter of the glass and then the lamp flashes on and off quickly for less than a second. Not sure if that helps, but it is not locked or stuck it seems. It could be broken or unhooked as you have stated, but if it moves and flashes on, does that mean it could be something else.
Have not taken anything apart, but you are correct that I don't currently have a maintenace agreement with Xerox. Any other way to resolve? I can try taking it apart and reseating the cables. Is there any service manual or guide to how to take it apart?
Thank you for your help.
It's the lens assembly, but the code is generic, it is either locked, stuck in position or broken/unhooked.
Only hope is to take it apart and start reseating cables under the platten (Since I assume you have no maintenance agreement with Xerox)
Good luck
Hi,
I have a workcentre 6515/DNI and it gives me a fault error of 062-380 as soon as it is powered on. Nothing is connected to the printer except the power cable. It was working perfectly 2 month ago when it was last used and then turned off. It wasn't moved, but now it start with that fault error.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Joe
