I'm having an issue with a Workcentre 7845 not completeing the alt boot. It get to network controller and checks that off but never starts with copy controller, print/copy engine or scan engine. The post code is u with flashing decimal. Procedure says to replace hard drive which I have, and then sbc pwb which I've also replaced. Still having the same issue. Spoke with a Xerox hardware engineer who told me to replace the dimms on the board. Replaced both sets. Still having the same issue. Any ideas?
Yes. Pretty much the only time I don't do force upgrade is if I'm trying to save info on the machine.
I thought it could possibly be an SD card but I tried that too since the firmware is housed on it.
You can do it yourself. It is just a simple file with no extension like FORCEDD_UPGRADE. In AltBoot folder click right in a blank area select "NEW", select "Text Document", name it IGNORE_MISSING_MODULES, delete his .txt extension.
So, in AltBoot folder put the software .dlm, the FORCED_UPGRADE file and the IGNORE_MISSING MODULES file.
I have not resolved the issue yet, but another tech took a look and said the SIM card is missing. Do you know if that would cause this issue? I cannot get any other information besides that.
Tried that but still got the same result. When the upgrade starts it jumps pretty quick to halfway finished
on Network Controller and then within a couple of minutes network controller is done. It never goes any further after that.
