Workforce 6027 shows up as XRX501591 in Windows and often loses network connection.

Product Name: WorkCentre 6027
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Hi. We have a Workforce 6027 which is connected via network to 4 machines. Most of the PCs have regular connection problems in not connecting to the printer. Sometimes switching the printer off and on again makes it work again.

Could this be a sleep setting that we are missing or not adjusted correctly? Or is there another suggestion you may have?

Also, for some strange reason ithe 6027shows up as XRX501591 in Windows 10 Devices and Printers (the Control Panel App). We can cope with this but, out of interest, If anyone has a suggestion about why it shaows as XRX50159 and not 6027 that would be interesting.

Thanks

Connection can be fixed by disabling SNMP on the port within the driver

Windows 10 is using WSD ports (You pick the printer from the list here, don't do that, it makes issues)

Red = never, yellow = always

The SNMP thing applies to issues where the printer is stated to be Offline in windows when it isn't actually, if the printer is actually losing the network that is a whole other thing to troubleshoot unrelated to drivers and protocols.

The 2 key points, WSD ports are bad

SNMP being enabled is bad on TCP/IP ports

Lastly, XRX501591 Is the Hostname of the printer, you can change it in the DNS settings menu in the printers webui to whatever you like

Hi Joe,

Thank you for your detailed reply. I'm out of the office tomorrow, Friday, but I will try this out on my return.

Thanks again.
