Xerox 1000 Fuser Web Issues

Jump to solution

I was running a couple jobs earlier today and everything was printing fine, until I got a couple jams and then a sound that was perhaps a roller being stopped too soon or halted and error code 010-310. I know this usually has to do with the belt in the fuser, so I pulled it out and looked at it. Everything seemed fine, so I put the fuser back together and slid it back into the machine.

The next error message I got was "Fuser Web not loaded correctly," odd because it was in there pretty well and I changed it out not too long ago. Anyway, I pulled the fuser back out and tried a few different things.

  1. I took out the web assembly and placed it back in to see if maybe it just wasn't inserted correctly, same error message
  2. I took another fuser web and put it into the fuser, same error message
  3. I checked all of the gears and rollers to make sure they were operationg properly as far as I could tell (one thing to note is there is a motor that drives the fuser web on the left side of the fuser, model no J202-967, that didn't seem to be turning .. and I'm not sure if this kind of motor is one that locks up when not in use or not)
  4. I powered the machine off, waited 10 seconds, powered it back on to see if maybe it was perhaps a software thing, but I got the same error message

I already called service about this but the technician won't be here until later in the day so I figured I might as well see if anyone on here has a solution I haven't thought of.

Any ideas would be helpful, and I hope to have this machine up and running soon.

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi, Tyler!

The first fault code indicates that it's a Fuser Belt Speed Fault, which usually happens if the printer stops promptly.

And yes, it does sound like a motor or a sensor issue.

Okay, thank you for the quick reply!

I just got a call from the service techand hopefully we can just get a replacement for the motor perhaps to resolv ethe issue quickly!

I will update when everything is operating normally.

Okay, so the issue, as simple as it sounds was that the metal sensors that touch with the fuser web were really dirty due to some buildup from the fuser.

Cleaned those off and now it runs like a charm.

It's always the simple things you don't think about!
